My cat Samira likes petrology. Well, she at least likes petrology books. For napping, she prefers Best's
Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology over Blatt and Tracy's
Petrology: Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic. I don't have the heart to tell her that you cannot learn petrology through diffusion. Trust me-- I tried sleeping with a petrology book under my pillow for that one test back in undergrad, and it didn't work.

My cat Zayna, on the other hand, prefers napping on my knitting projects rather than my petrology books.

Could petrology textbooks be a universal sleep-inducing panacea? Reading them appears to have a similar effect on my students. Hmmm...

After reading Ron's comment, I came up with a caption for the middle photo as well... I think I'll be doing a number of updates on this post.
